The new owners are great. Always friendly and helpful and they are really developing its offer. The other day I was doing various money transactions and accidentally forgot to take some cash I had withdrawn. I only realised this a couple of days later when checking my bank online. I went back into the post office and before I'd finished explaining they knew exactly what had happened and handed me the money I'd forgotten to take. I was really impressed and very relieved.

I have been using this place for years and they have got new owners recently. Prices have shot up. Used them about 5 or 6 times recently to post birthday cards. I never have any stamps so go in and hand them in at the counter to post. I've always thought wow this is expensive, about £3-£5 to post a card (they seem to classify everything as large no matter what the size) but i just put this down to prices rising everywhere generally. I returned a broken laptop to a supplier yesterday and got charged £20.70, I had no idea what it should cost and the supplier was going to refund postage anyway. Sent the receipt to the supplier for a refund and they said I've been ripped off and the maximum postage they will refund is £7.50 as it should have cost no more than this for a laptop. Been on Royal Mails website and this backs this up (about £4-£6 depending on the option you choose). The most expensive option I could find was £8.50 so I have no idea how they came to £20.70 for a 2kg parcel. From reading other reviews elsewhere their business model seems to be to give you the most expensive possible option unless you challenge them. The Post Office is supposed to be part of the community not out there to fleece the community. Last couple of times I've been in there has been no-one in at all whereas previously there was always a queue. Obviously a lot of the community have become wise to their business practices. Needless to say won't be going there again, everyone seems to be going to Tingley Post Office now from talking to people in the village as apparently they're very good and only down the road. There's also BP, Tesco, Premier, Evri and loads of other places to post parcels these days so will be using one of these in the future.
